Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune was founded in 2008 as a part of Symbiosis International University. SIT Pune offers B. Tech programs in civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electronics & telecommunication engineering, mechanical engineering, artificial intelligence & machine learning, robotics & automation, and embedded systems. The institute also offers M. Tech programs in artificial intelligence & machine learning, robotics & automation, and embedded systems. In the faculty of engineering, the institute launched the PhD degree in 2010.
Applicants for B.Tech are chosen based on their performance in the SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE), JEE (Main), or any state government engineering entrance examination, and only GATE-certified candidates are eligible for M.Tech admission. In 2021, Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune had a placement rate of 85% or above. In 2021, the maximum package offered was Rs 12 lakh per annum, whereas the average package stood at Rs 6.5 to 7 lakh per annum. • PG merit scholarships are merit-based postgraduate scholarships granted to deserving candidates. For all courses, scholarships worth 50% of the tuition charge are available.
• UG merit grants are undergraduate SIT Pune scholarships given to students who have demonstrated academic excellence. For all courses, scholarships worth 50% of the tuition charge are available.
• Semester toppers will be granted a scholarship based on academic excellence, with a minimum CGPA of 8.50, as per the updated policy.
• Only students who have completed all of the required courses for their programme, i.e. who have no backlog, will be considered for the merit scholarship.
• A student who has been given a merit scholarship by the university is not ineligible for a stipend or any other form of financial aid. If a student receives a stipend or financial aid from another source, he or she must notify the institute and the SIU office of student affairs.
• For the purpose of granting merit scholarships, there will be no financial restriction for the parents/guardians of the children.
• If a student is eligible for more than one scholarship/freeship from the university, he or she will only be given one scholarship/freeship according to his or her selection.
